Jim Faris, RPT
I am a native of Washington State and have been tuning pianos in the Seattle area since 1972. I first became a member of the Piano Technicians Guild in 1980 and have served the local chapter in several positions of leadership over the years. With a keen interest in education and training, I attend local, regional and national training seminars whenever possible and have completed the Yamaha certification program. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in music from the UW.
Working as a freelance piano technician, my clientele includes piano owners, students, teachers and musicians and I have serviced pianos in private homes, schools, churches, recording studios, performance halls and TV studios. In 1989 I was voted the best piano tuner in Seattle by readers of The Weekly.
In my spare time I enjoy making music, fly-fishing, spending time with family and friends and puttering around my woodworking shop. I currently live in Shoreline with my lovely wife, Geri, and our exuberant dog, Trudy.
